Owner/Operator Empowered Counseling, PLLC

Liza McFarland is a licensed professional counselor focusing on issues related to self-image and identity. This area is close to her heart because she spent most of her life dealing with weight, self-compassion, and identity issues. She states, "I had no idea where I belonged, I still struggle sometimes but have learned to give myself the space to stumble and grow as I go". Liza invite you to join her in feeling liberated to be whoever you are… and learn to love the quirks.
As a licensed therapist, she loves helping people understand themselves and grow as individuals. As a toddler mom and wife, she likes to have fun with her family anywhere outside. As an individual, she enjoys practicing yoga, doing a plethora of crafts, reading and watching sci-fi, and generally goofing off every chance she gets.

BRAD DAVIS

LPC-MHSP

Owner/Operator North Star Counseling LLC.

Brad Davis is a Licensed Professional Counselor who received his Master’s degree in Counseling from East Tennessee State University. He has more than nine years of experience as a psychotherapist. Brad provides therapy to people from all walks of life and tailors counseling to each individual. He meets people right where they are to help them take steps towards the life they want.
Brad was born and raised in the Tri-Cities and, although he has lived in several different places, he always felt the Tri-Cities was home. He is married and has two small children who keep him busy. Brad is passionate about coffee, music, and cooking. He plays multiple stringed instruments and roasts his own coffee.
Brad believes that people who struggle with their thoughts and feelings are often just looking for a way to be the person they want to be and sometimes get lost along the way. They want to hold true to their personal values when making choices in life, but have trouble finding a way forward. Brad believes that, through therapy, people can learn new and creative ways to respond to those thoughts and feelings so they can get back to living a life guided by their values.
Brad Davis has his own private practice named North Star Counseling LLC. Brad takes BCBS of TN, Optum/United Healthcare, Cigna, and Aetna private insurances and also has a sliding scale fee for self-pay clients.

Providers: Meet the Team

Meet the Interns

Interns are students who are participating in a graduate program to obtain their master's degree in clinical counseling. Internships are required to meet the criteria for graduating and offer the student the opportunity to practice what they have learned in a clinical setting with experienced counselor supervision. It's the first step to helping the student learn what it is like to sit in the chair and spread their wings for their counseling career.
